Sketch That went to Ilkley today.

The sketching group Sketch That (which I co-run with my mate Angela Diplock) visited Ilkley in West Yorkshire today, for one of our monthly meet ups where we get together to draw what we see.

It was a bit drizzly, but it was really festive as the town has been covered in decorations in preparation for the Tour de France passing through next weekend.

Here’s my first drawing which got a bit rained on, before we went to hide under some trees.

Then we went to Ilkley Manor House Museum, chiefly as it wasn’t raining there, secondly as it was free! It’s a lovely old building, and there’s currently a bicycling themed exhibition on, so we all drew some bikes and related ephemera.

I drew the display by Ilkley District Cycling Club.

And a nice Raleigh Caprice that I coveted.
Then we visited the great art shop nearby (‘The Art Shop’, Hawksworth Street) and I bought another new sketchbook, as I really can’t resist!
