Four new paintings and one’s got googley eyes

Most important news! I have four new paintings, and one of them has got googley eyes on it, which is of course the best thing to glue to an artwork (besides pompoms).

I’m working on some paintings this week that continue the theme of 90’s British rave, (that I started to look at in 2014).  The current piece is about 80 x 100cm, so it’s a lot larger than recent pieces, and I think that I will continue with this scale for a while. It’s challenging to work on this scale as I work with very runny paint, and I have to keep the canvas flat. I have to keep standing on a chair to get a good vantage point to see what I’ve been painting!

Also this week, plans are falling into place for the group show in the autumn. I’m also working out how best to exhibit my art for the open studios event on July 11th.
