A little update on some of the work I’ve been making over February and March 2016.
I’ve got 8 new pieces to share here.
Mermaid Pool, acrlyic on canvas, 20 x 20 x 4cm. Part of the mini series of paintings I’ve done, after finding images of inexperienced people using machetes, on Instagram. The series includes North Shore and Malpisalex Machete (below).
North Shore, acrylic on canvas, 20 x 20 x 4cm
Mailpaisalex Machete, acrylic on canvas, 20 x 20 x 4cm
In February I also took part in a painting swap between myself and artist/friend Ian Cockburn. As we both like each other’s work, we thought it would be nice to exchange art.
Ian requested that I do his portrait, and provided me with some photographs to work from, and we ended up choosing one from his holiday to Mexico, with him sitting on the beach. Unfortunately we were both too busy for me to paint him from life.
Tropical Ian, 27 x 35cm. Acrylic, Gelly Roll, glitter and plastic gems, on canvas.
Ian painted this beautiful landscape, which I am now the proud owner of.
In March I painted these ladies:
Friends against Fascists, 27 x 35cm, acrylic on canvas.
Red haired woman with pearls, acrylic on canvas, 40 x 40cm
..and in the last week I have painted these, which totally hurt my eyes due to the level of fine detail involved…
Selfie with tiles and loafers, acrylic and ribbon and glue on canvas, 20 x 30 x 2cm. (Not a selfie of myself! Appropriated image from Instagram from beautiful person @ser_sera )
Community dance, acrylic on canvas, 30 x 30cm
Mean people suck, 20 x 30 x 2cm, acrylic on canvas.
And right now I am in the midst of this new work which is a bit easier on my eye sight:
You can see all my new work in more detail, plus lots of older pieces in my online gallery at axisweb.
