Last year I was part of a group show ‘Screen Dump‘ at Sela bar, which myself and Fred Pepper curated, and we showed alongside emerging Leeds artists Alisia Casper, Kat Archibald and Geraldine M. Greenwood.
This year I have a solo exhibition of 23 new paintings on the upper floor of Brewdog, none of which have been previously shown elsewhere, and I am pretty excited! The paintings were inspired by feminism, music culture and fashion, whilst thinking about human relationships and our aspirations.
Having experienced mental health problems personally, and through family, and friends, I wanted to be part of Love Arts Leeds to try and help challenge negative perceptions of those with poor mental health.
Love Arts Leeds opens on October 5th, with a launch party at the Corn Exchange, 4-6pm. All Welcome!
There will be the chance to pick up a programme detailing all the activities for the LAL festival, or you can check out the schedule online. There’s a whole lot of music, theatre, art and participatory activities going on, so there’s something for everyone!*
New Paintings by Helen Dryden will be on display at Brewdog Leeds (behind the Corn Exchange) from October 3rd to 29th, and Brewdog is open 12:00 midday to 12:00 midnight everyday.
*Programmes not available yet, at time of writing, but check link soon!(23/08/16)
