At Sunny Bank Mills where I work on my paintings in the Spinning Mill, we have Open Studios twice a year, and it’s almost time for our next event!
Come and visit on Saturday September 7th and Sunday September 8th, from 10am-4pm.
It’s free entry and I’ll be there alongside my studio buddies to say hello and talk about our work. Many of us have things for sale/commission and you will find a great diversity of practices, including painting, photography, jewellery, ceramics, stained glass, graphic design, writing children’s books and more. You can also visit our sister studio at The Twisting.
As usual, you can come and look at my studio space and see what I’ve been painting recently, and if you’re looking for some art for your collection then let me know!
Mel Davies is holding an exhibition of his humorously nostalgic paintings in the loft space above our studio, and Sunny Bank Mills Gallery will have loads of fabulous art to see, as well as coffee and cakes to munch in the gallery cafe.
There’s free parking, an accessible toilet on the ground floor of the Spinning Mill and at the Gallery, and the studio is accessible by lift. (Sadly the loft exhibition is only accessible by stairs).
